Mining and national economies

ICMM's research on the Role of Mining in National Economies (ROMINE) draws attention to the significant contribution of mining and metals to the global economy, and to the economies of an increasing number of low- and middle-income countries. If governments are to insulate their economies from vulnerability, and ensure mineral wealth translates into broader-based economic and social progress, the frameworks that govern mineral resources are of increasing importantance.
