Tariq Kareemulla

Senior Programme Officer

Tariq joined ICMM in 2022 as a Sr. Programme Officer in the Innovation team. He is involved in the Innovation for Cleaner, Safer Vehicles (ICSV) initiative, leading the GHG aspect. He is also involved in climate change topics within the Innovation portfolio. 
 
Prior to joining ICMM, Tariq was Coordinator and Engineer (R&D) at Liebherr Mining working on the Zero Emissions Mine project. Where, he was the global-divisional representative at the Liebherr Group E-Mobility Expert working group, besides being the Cross functional simulations coordinator: Energy & emissions, and Battery systems & charging solutions lead. Before moving to the mining & metals sector, Tariq worked three years in the automotive industry developing optimal control strategies for energy management and vehicle dynamics of Hybrid racing and light-commercial vehicles in the North of France. Having moved to France in 2012 to pursue his passion for Sustainability, he has been living and working in Colmar, Grand Est France in proximity to the tripoint where the borders of France, Germany and Switzerland meet, for nearly half a decade. 

Tariq has a M.Sc. in Automotive Engineering for Sustainable Mobility from Polytech Orléans & ISAT Nevers, France, and a B.Tech. in Mechatronics Engineering from Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology, Hyderabad, India.
