Sαrαh Omαr

Sarah joined the ICMM in May 2022 as communications officer.

Prior to joining the ICMM, Sarah worked in Kuala Lumpur on legal and policy issues where she supported clients and her team on drafting contracts, human rights, and policy issues. Prior to this, she worked at a London-based NGO as a Middle East and North Africa Caseworker. She worked on issues relating to torture, the death penalty, and judicial process.

Sarah has an MSc in Human Rights, where she engaged in interdisciplinary areas on the subject such as governance and politics, international law, and sociology. Her dissertation combined these areas to explore the role of Indigenous Peoples in International Arbitration and the effects of Investment Law on them and their communities, and their access to their rights.

She also holds an LLB degree in Law.
