Antonia Mihaylova

Senior Manager

Antonia joined ICMM in November 2023 to look after tailings management and the responsible mining standards convergence process.

Antonia is coming from the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), where she headed the Director General’s Office, serving as Special Adviser to the Director General. Prior to that, she managed the Global Tailings Review, the process that led to the development of the UNEP, ICMM and responsible investors-backed Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management (GISTM). She took on that role after a number of years at a London-based international development consultancy, working on World Bank and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)-funded mineral resource governance projects across Asia and Africa. In the early stages of her career, Antonia worked for an environmental NGO Global Greengrants Fund, supporting grassroots initiatives.

Antonia holds a MS in Environmental Policy from the London School of Economics (LSE) and a BA in Economics and Politics from the University of Exeter, UK.
