Amber Rowntree

Senior Manager

Amber Rowntree joined ICMM in May 2022 as Senior Manager for Social and Economic Development. Her focus areas include social practice improvement, community resilience, human rights and Indigenous Peoples, diversity, equity and inclusion and mineral resource governance.

Amber has worked within the mining industry for 14+ years in roles largely centred on environmental and social impact and performance. Working in consulting, on-site and corporate capacities across Australia and the Asia Pacific, she has garnered experience in engaging a wide range of stakeholders from remote mine-affected communities to government.

Amber is driven to apply her international and multidisciplinary experience toward improved social and environmental outcomes of resource projects.

Amber holds a doctorate in Bioscience and Environmental Studies and an Honours Degree in Natural Resource Management from the University of Adelaide.
