Environment director Hayley Zipp will be discussing at ClientEarth's Annual Summit 'Mining the future' – can we mine the rare earth minerals needed to clean up our energy systems without destroying the planet?

Join us at this year’s ClientEarth Summit, taking place on Tuesday 6th and Wednesday 7th June, where they are bringing together experts, partners and peers to discuss new ways of protecting people and the planet.

This year’s sessions will ask ‘where is the world going?’, covering topics such as: can technology save us from the climate crisis, links between human rights and protecting the planet and how to build a truly green city. Hear from speakers from around the world, including climate lawyers, academics and charities and find out more about the latest issues affecting us and our planet.

Mining the future – can we mine the rare earth minerals needed to clean up our energy systems without destroying the planet?

  • We need hard-to-extract minerals to help us decarbonise. But mining them comes with its own environmental and human rights costs.
  • Should we look at a circular economy instead so we cut the need for mining?
  • How do we reconcile conflicting requirements to make the world a better place?

Join Hayley for this panel discussion chaired by Adam Weiss, Regional Director of Programmes, Europe at ClientEarth.
