Biodiversity encompasses the wide variety and variability of life on Earth. It is the basis for the provision of clean water, the recycling of nutrients and pollination – sustaining human livelihoods and life itself. The state of biodiversity over most of the globe is declining, despite increased activity by policy makers, civil society and the private sector to underpin resilience. Leadership and collaboration from all sectors is required to address this challenge. ICMM and its members are actively partnering with conservation organisations and other sectors in order to share learnings and expertise, and develop leading approaches to biodiversity management.
