Guide on Mining and Indigenous Peoples now available in Portuguese
ICMM is pleased to announce the release of its Good Practice Guide: Indigenous Peoples and Mining in Portuguese.
Originally published in 2010, the guide aims to help companies achieve constructive relationships with Indigenous Peoples and to help ICMM members implement their commitments stated in ICMM’s Position Statement on Mining and Indigenous Peoples.
While recognizing the role of traditional decision-making structures, the guide urges companies to be sensitive to those sections of the community who are frequently excluded from these structures, such as women and young people.
