JX Nippon Mining & Metals is an integrated producer engaged in the non-ferrous metals business, principally copper, encompassing upstream (resource development), midstream (smelting and refining), and downstream (electronic materials, recycling and environmental services) operations.
Nippon’s ICMM membership
Under the global movement for the sustainable development in the environment conservation, climate change and others surrounding the metal mines, ICMM was established in 2001, and it has since then been carrying out a variety of challenges toward the formation of sustainable society on the ground of its Ten Principles. JX Nippon Mining & Metals joined ICMM in July 2002 as it considered that exchanging information and views on the sustainable development with the companies engaged in the mining and metals business is important in carrying out its own business.
