BHP Billiton is the world's largest diversified resources company.Its interests are divided into nine Customer Sector Groups including Energy Coal, Metallurgical Coal, Manganese, Aluminium, Base Metals (including uranium), Diamonds and Speciality Products, Petroleum, Stainless Steel Materials, and Iron Ore. The Company runs over 100 operations across 25 countries.
BHP Billiton’s ICMM membership
BHP Billiton joined ICMM in 2001 and has since aligned its Health, Safety, Environment and Community Standard to the member-endorsed ICMM Sustainable Development framework. As a member of ICMM, BHP Billiton has included the ICMM assurance requirements within the scope of its own external assurance engagement to provide independent assurance that the ICMM commitments are met.
