ICMM member Newmont recognized for good practice
ICMM member Newmont was ranked 16th on Corporate Responsibility Magazine’s 100 Best Corporate Citizens List, released this month.
Newmont’s latest showing improves on the 2009 rankings in which the company came 39th on the list.
Newmont is a founding member of ICMM and has committed to its Sustainable Development Framework. This comprises the ten principles, public reporting and independent third party assurance.
Details of Newmont’s activities can be found in the company’s annual sustainability report – www.BeyondTheMine.com – which is published as part of Newmont’s ongoing commitments as a member of ICMM.
The 2010 List was based on an analysis of seven categories: Environment, Climate Change, Human Rights, Philanthropy, Employee Relations, Financial Performance and Governance. Company performance is monitored by stakeholders, investors, employees and government regulators.
