ICMM President joins Euromoney debate
ICMM President Paul Mitchell took part in a debate on 'ESG Risk & Financial Innovation in Emerging Markets', organized by Euromoney, in London on 11 June.
Chaired by Rachel Kyte of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the debate was attended by a select group of attendees from lender and investor organizations.
The agenda was split into two sessions. The first session, on 'Trends & Materiality', looked at issues such as the current state of play of sustainable investing in emerging markets, and current trends in ESG risk and financial innovation relating to emerging market investment.
The second session, 'Financial Innovation', addressed topics including the role of ESG investors in creating stable and sustainable markets and companies, and what are the challenges that a "sustainable investing" approach applied in developed markets may encounter in a developing country context.
