Natural resources industry statement at G20 meeting
'The aim for the natural resources industry is to provide sufficient resources at a reasonable price and in a sustainable way to ensure social and economic development.'
This was the key message in a statement made by the Energy and Minerals Business Council (EMBC) to the G20 on 18 November 2006 in Melbourne, Australia.
The theme of the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors meeting was energy and minerals. BHP Billiton CEO Chip Goodyear was asked to form the EMBC in order to provide input for the main meeting.
