WHO WE WORK WITH
Minerals Industry Safety and Health Centre
Australia’s University of Queensland Minerals Industry Safety and Health Centre is compiling health and safety risk management information relevant to the industry, enabling users to tap into information on hazard identification and risk management.
ICMM is providing funding to the university to enable it to add international data to the extensive library of primarily Australian data that it already has.
The information is available via the Minerals Industry Risk Management Gateway (MIRMgate), www.mirmgate.com. This website enables users to find carefully-chosen good practice risk management information, identify hazards through the entire life cycle of operations and get decision-making help for both long and short term problems.
MIRMgate’s other principal aim is to encourage collaboration between companies, governments and institutions on health and safety best practice.
Giving the industry as much information about key operational issues through examples of good practice will enhance standards in mining and metals across the board.
AT A GLANCE
MIRMgate enables users to find carefully-chosen good practice risk management information.
