Mining, Metallurgy and Environment in Mexico during the Twentieth Century

This publication provides a brief history of mining in Mexico in the 20th century. It describes the growth, diversification and modernization of the industry, emphasizing progress in environmental protection. As well, it provides an overview of environmental programs and policies in the country, and activities taken by mining companies to improve their environmental performance. Examples of how the industry has addressed environmental problems are illustrated by case studies.
