ICMM president contributes to setting the World Economic Forum Agenda for Davos 2009

The World Economic Forum convened a series of Global Agenda Councils on different sectors on 7 and 8 November in Dubai.

ICMM president Tony Hodge contributed to the Global Agenda Council on ‘The Future of Mining and Metals'. There were 68 Councils in total.

The Summit’s findings will serve as input for the upcoming G20 discussions and the new US administration, as well as providing the foundation for the program of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2009, in Davos, which will be held under the theme Shaping the Post-Crisis World.

The meeting amounted to a giant brainstorming session in which 68 Global Agenda Councils on different sectors were convened.

Each Council was asked to respond to two questions: What is the state of the world on this industry and how is the economic crisis impacting it?, and: What should be done to improve the state of the world on this industry, and by whom?
