WHO WE WORK WITH
CRIRSCO
ICMM is a strategic partner of the Committee for Mineral Reserves International Reporting Standards (CRIRSCO) which promotes best practice in the international public reporting of mineral exploration results, resources and reserves.
CRIRSCO is an international advisory body without legal authority, relying on its constituent members to ensure regulatory and disciplinary oversight at a national level. Its existence recognizes the truly global nature of the minerals industry and the need for international consensus on reporting standards.
Uniformity in international reporting standards
CRIRSCO promotes uniformity, excellence and continuous improvement in national and international reporting standards. It represents the international minerals industry on resource and reserve reporting issues and facilitates information exchange and dialogue among CRIRSCO members and stakeholders.
Since January 2007, ICMM has supported CRIRSCO by providing financial and administrative support to the organization. Both organizations have agreed to promote the activities of the other where appropriate.
CRIRSCO’s members are National Reporting Organizations (NROs) who are responsible for developing mineral reporting codes, standards and guidelines in Australasia (JORC), Chile (National Committee), Canada (CIM), Europe (PERC), South Africa (SAMREC), USA (SME) and Russia (OERN).
CRIRSCO has developed an international minerals reporting code template, which can be used to guide countries wishing to adopt its own reporting standard. It is available on their website.
