Business Summary

Codelco (Corporación Nacional del Cobre de Chile) is an autonomous company owned by the State of Chile. It is the world’s largest copper producer and contributes more to the Chilean economy than any other company.​

It controls around 20% of the world's copper reserves and is a major producer of molybdenum and other by-products.​

Codelco runs eight operations in the center and north of Chile and its corporate headquarters are located in Santiago, Chile. 

Codelco's membership to ICMM

Originally a member of ICMM between 2001-2002, Codelco re-joined the organization in 2011. Social responsibility and sustainable development are integral to its decision-making process and Codelco is committed to improving its performance in an open and collaborative manner.

Through its membership with ICMM Codelco hopes to play an active role in setting global standards for sustainability development in the mining and metals industry.
