Yusuke joined ICMM in January 2016 as the programme officer of responsible supply and use of materials. He is on a secondment from member company JX Nippon Mining & Metals Corporation.
Over the past 15 years, Yusuke has worked across diverse parts of the metals business including procurement of primary and secondary resources and marketing of metals, as well as finance, credit analysis and industry survey for private companies, financial institutions and greenfield projects in various sectors including energy and natural resource sectors. Most recently, he joins ICMM after working within the corporate planning and coordination department of JX Nippon Mining & Metals.
Prior to JX Nippon Mining & Metals, Yusuke worked for Japanese policy-based financial institution Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) in Tokyo for eight years. There he had responsibility for finance, credit analysis and industry surveys in the metals, energy, petrochemicals and other Japanese manufacturing sectors, as well as carbon emission trading. Before joining JBIC, Yusuke was involved in the procurement of zinc concentrate and copper and precious metals recycle resources, and the marketing of zinc and precious metals at Nippon Mining & Metals (which later became JX Nippon Mining & Metals).
He holds a bachelor in economics from Hitotsubashi University in Japan.
